Rules:
1) No motherlode. *sigh* I love motherlode.
2) Start with an individual.
3) Roll for traits.
4) Get to fifth generation.

I think those are good rules for my first legacy. ;) I should mention that I don't ever play, just decorate and build, so this is quite different for me.

Chapter 1

Here is the founder of my legacy, Ainsley:

Ah, she's actually kind of cute. Her traits: Brave, slob, photographer's eye, hopeless romantic, and athletic. She likes classical music, fish & chips, and red. And she's a cancer. Her LTW is to have a World Class Gallery. Ainsley's a little unusual - kind of like me, even if she isn't a self-sim - so when it came to where to live, she decided to buy an old, run-down church even if it left her just about broke.

She has the bare essentials in where the pews and altar used to be.

The stairs to the basement and then the existing bathroom:

Now that she's got a place to live, she's got to find a job. That'll be coming soon.

So, this is the boring part (for me, anyway). She doesn't have the money to buy anything fun (like a tv or computer) and doesn't yet have a job. I kept looking by the mailbox for the newspaper (this is the first time I've really played TS3) so I could get her a job, but no go. Instead I started skilling with logic.

Boring.

Nope, not any more interesting from this angle.

Let's try fishing in the well stocked pond; that should be fun.

Dang, I just missed getting the pic of her pulling the fishing pole out of her butt. :(

Look at those fish jumping. This pond is so well stocked the fish should be jumping into her hands, even without a fishing pole.

Um, isn't this supposed to be fun? If this is her "I'm having fun" expression, I don't want to see her bored.

Fish concentration in most of the pond compared to the fish concentration where Ainsley's fishing (she didn't catch any):

Oh look, there's the paper!! Who'd have thunk they'd actually put it near the door! How nice.

Let's shed some light on the subject. Before buying an overhead light compared to after

Jobs available are paper girl (journalism), playground monitor (education) and decoy (criminal).  With Ainsley's traits I'm not sure any of those are ideal, but I like the idea of having a criminal sim. What can I say, I'm weird that way. So Ainsley accepts the job of decoy. She has 23 hours until work starts, so now what? I guess we'll do more skilling, this time cooking. No pictures, because again it's b-o-r-i-n-g. I even ultra-speeded through. Hmmm, I think I may have to take out a mod or something, because she doesn't seem to be gaining skills. I should probably have taken out some of my mods before starting my legacy anyway. I need to fix that before the next installment.

Chapter 2

Bored with skilling, I send Ainsley to Lakeside Park where there was a neighborhood bbq going on.

Guess she was as bored with the skilling as me. She was in a hurry to go to this bbq. I didn't realize it would require a cab ride and a subway ride. *sigh* To be able to afford a car. Oh well, this is better for the environment, right? (well, the subway is) Oh geez, another cab? My sim is lazy.

Hmmm, what is wrong with this picture?

Give up? No other sims. Well, guess Ainsley lives in a boring neighborhood, too! So, I told her to light the firepit and then sit. She sat on one seat to light the fire, then got up, walked around it, and sat in the seat next to it.

Maybe the first one had gum on it or something. Well, lets sit here for a little bit and see if anyone shows up. Oh, she brought a book with her, how smart. Might as well read while we wait. Dang it, she still isn't skilling up. Wait, isn't skilling turned off on community lots? :headbang: Okay, no one is here and she's starting to get hungry, so let's go home.

Mac and cheese for her skill level.

At least she doesn't look as bored as she did while she was fishing.

Ew, is she using her hands to mix it? If so, I'm really glad I'm not eating any. Come to think of it, given her skill level I'm glad I'm not eating it anyway.

Um, Ainsley? Yeah, :hi: over here. The crazy person behind the keyboard. Just curious, but why did you put your dinner in front of a space with no chair? Yeah, that's what I thought. Why don't you just move it over a little... (first the changing seats at the fire pit, now this. I'm starting to wonder about Ainsley's intelligence)

Ew. Ew, ew. Is that coming or going? Just curious.

Doesn't it suck to have to go to the basement to use the facilities? And I didn't even put any lights down here. Good thing she's female.   Back upstairs. Now, Ainsley, I know you're a slob, but please clean up from dinner.

I should probably take time here to mention that I am using two mods that are really cheats. But they are more to keep me from being too bored. One makes the sims need less sleep, and the other allows them to learn skills faster. Yay both! I have some other mods, but none of them impact game play. I also have epic lifespan with 10 days as baby, 101 days as toddler (couldn't get 100 exactly), 101 as child, 201 as child, 351 as young adult, 351 as adult, and 230 as elder. I hate it when my sims die. Oh, and I'm playing with Queenstown.

Okay, lets go look at her needs. Fun is the lowest, but I don't have anything fun for her yet. Let's do more skilling. Logic this time, I think. Skilling may be working, but she still doesn't have the little fill thingie over her head. Oh well, I don't really care. Oh, I know what she can do next! She has only a low athletic level. Let's go to the gym.

Well, this looks about right. This gym has black lights over the machines, so she looks weird. Well, weirder. I changed them to normal lights after this picture.

When her energy got really low, I had her shower then go home to bed. Her cell phone rang while she was sleeping. Um, did she put the phone in the pocket of her night shorts? Oh, right, I saw a ringing butt, so I know sims don't keep their phones in their pockets.

Next morning, I'm anxious to see what her uniform will be. First she has to use the facilities and then eat. Her hunger is in the yellow. Geez, it took her more than 30 sim minutes. Hurry up and eat, dummy, the car pool is supposed to be here in three minutes. Way to start your first day at work.

Yeah, I don't think she cares.

That's it for now. Next time we'll go over her first day on the job.

Chapter 3

Work outfit = normal clothes. That's just...disappointing. So, she missed the carpool and what?

Oh, she's going to run all the way to work. How fun. Did I mention she lives on the way left side of the map? Hm. Bet her mood won't be great when she gets there. Being a criminal isn't looking too good for her right now. Wait...

Here's her carpool. Is this a criminal thing? You know, not being picked up at the door so no one will see them? If so, that's kinda stupid because it took Ainsley more than 30 minutes to run to the car (of course she had to follow the road and couldn't just cut down the hill because that is one steep hill).

Nice place to work. Not. *shudders* I guess I didn't have her in a very good mood because by the time quiting time rolled around, she was low on hunger (normal), energy (almost running on empty) and fun. Uh oh. *sigh* Nap time. She earned 76 simoleons, so there isn't much I can buy her for fun. Maybe she should go get a tattoo. All criminals have them, right? (I'm being sarcastic here, since I have two). Nap first, then we'll think about that tattoo. Oh boy, I hope she doesn't have to run *back* home. And I can tell a criminal is driving her carpool car. He did a U-turn (well, they're illegal where I live) and ran a yellow light. Yep, she has to run back home.

WAIT!!!

That's my girl, Ainsley. Take a cab home. Random note here, but does anyone else hate how the camera controls are opposite in live and tab modes? Drives me bonkers! Well, more bonkers. Snack then bed. OMG, I didn't get a picture of it, but Ainsley's kitchen is up on a stage and she just kind of stopped before the stage and wobbled a little before slowly going up. Priceless. I just realized Ainsley doesn't have a garbage can in her house. Good thing she's a slob.

See how sweet she looks? Not like a criminal at all. ... Wish time went even faster when they're sleeping ...

Okay, enough of a nap. Time to go have some fun. So, to a night club in downtown. Ainsley meets her first resident of Queenstown (other than coworkers), Quiana Dorman.

Trying to start interesting conversation, Ainsley asks Quiana a question:

DOH! Ainsley, you shouldn't ask questions you wouldn't want to answer yourself. Yep, I can hear it now. "Oh, you're a book merchant? Wow, how cool. I was a decoy for a robbery at your store." Great basis for a friendship.

Nice outfit dude. Not.

Ainsley agrees with me on the outfit. Anyway, this is Jarod Boone. He's a paparazzi. No, Ainsley didn't ask him. I pointed to him to find out. I'm not risking her bragging about her great career. She talked with him about cameras.

Goodness, does this girl ever look happy?

Well, that's 10 pix, so more later.
